Continued music education for your classroom teachers:

  1. Weekly participation in music activities that encourages classroom teachers to lead music activities throughout the week.
  2. Your classroom teachers can review and learn the music activities presented weekly through quality educational materials, Musikgarten's Family Materials, [below.] These materials are required for your teachers for their use with their class.
In order for your classroom teachers to continue the music activities presented on a weekly basis, the Musikgarten Family Materials are required. For your school year budget planning, the cost for your classrooms is as follows:
    • Family Music For Toddlers - This set includes CD, booklet & an instrument. One CD set is needed in fall, 1 set in winter/spring $30.00 each = $60.00 total
    • Cycle of Seasons - [Each set includes 2 CDs, illustrated listening cards & booklet in cloth pouch] Two sets are needed for the school year $38.00 each = $76. total
  3. The "Music Manual" in each classroom depicts the purpose of the program and teacher responsibilities. It is also a folder to place the weekly Music Notes and periodic handouts of music related articles.
  4. Periodic challenges or incentives can be set up in order to encourage and document music making throughout the week.
  5. The workshop, "Make Music Throughout the Day with Babies & Toddlers" is approved for 2 hours by the GA Dept. of Early Care & Learning. This is available and recommended for your staff early in the year so the teachers understand and apply the theory behind the weekly teaching. There is an appropriate charge for this workshop.
Parent communication:
  1. A master copy of "The Music Note" for teachers and parents will be given weekly to describe some of the activities, songs and concepts being learned from the Cycles of Season and Family Music for Toddlers curriculum.
  2. Parents can order their own set of Musikgarten Family Materials for enrichment at home with their child. Purchase information will be included in a yearly parent letter at the beginning of the school year. After Family Material sets have been ordered, parents could pick them up at the front desk.
  3. An informal recording of music classes on DVD can be requested. Parents, children and teachers seem to enjoy watching a typical class. A small TV can be set up to view the DVD during parent drop off and pick up, open houses or festivals.
  4. At an open house, a table display to introduce the music program is encouraged. The parents will be more informed and supportive of the music program. A "Family Music Night" can be scheduled for an additional fee so the parents can join their children for music together.
  5. Website link to www.musiktogrow.com could be established providing additional resources for parent education.
