Music Therapy individual sessions are available as requested for children with specials needs for the development of specific goals including:

  • Adaptive Skills
  • Fine and Gross Motor Skills

Music Therapy Groups for Special Needs is taught by Jan Boner, MT-BC [Music Therapist, Board Certified] Groups are offered with approximate age and/or developmental level. The music group setting is especially beneficial building social skills, language and confidence. Musikgarten curricula are adapted to your child's needs. Currently offering:

Special Needs Sun Catchers (3 - 5 years) with a parent
Songs, movement and instruments are used to help children socialize and verbalize in a fun, motivating setting with peers . Parents learn creative ways to interact musically with their child, helping to develop these skills at home. The fun musical setting also helps develop social skills. Musikgarten family materials include : CD, parent booklet & listening cards in a cloth pouch.
Monday 4:30-5:10 pm
Winter 1/23 -3/12 8 week fee $200 + CD materials & $38 = $238 total
Spring 3/19-5/14 8 week fee $200 returning students = $200 total

Music Makers Explore (6-10 years) parents join the last 15 minutes
Social skills, communication and fine & gross motor skills will be developed through song, musical games, circle dances and movement. The curriculum will present opportunities to explore the sights and sounds associated with natural habitats through song and movement. Special focus on group building activities, as well as opportunities for self-expression through instrument playing and movement will be addressed weekly.
Family materials include a folder set with CD
Monday 3:30-4:15 pm
Winter 1/23 -3/12 8 week fee $224 + CD materials & $27 = $251 total
Spring 3/19-5/14 8 week fee $224 returning students = $224 total

Music Makers Exploring
(6-10 years) parents join the last 15 minutes
Thursday 5:45-6:30 pm

Social skills, communication and fine & gross motor skills will be developed for special needs children through song, musical games, circle dances and movement. The curriculum will present opportunities to explore the sights and sounds associated with natural habitats through song and movement. Special focus on group building activities, as well as opportunities for self-expression through instrument playing and movement will be addressed weekly.
Family materials include a folder set with CD.
8 weeks fee $280 + materials $28 = $ 308 total
